MTV Xmas
- MTV Xmas shows only Christmas songs
- Like other music channels dedicated to Christmas songs and music videos, the channel is seasonal and is available for viewers only for a certain amount of time as there is no target audience for them after Christmas is over.
MTV:
MTV is the most successful music channel created to today as it was established long time ago and branch out to its sister channels to provide audiences with music they are interested in. These sister channels include all the MTV channels above i.e. MTV dance, MTV Hits. These sister channels help attract different audiences as they all show different genres of music to attract a high amount of audiences with different tastes in music. This is a successful way to distribute their music as audiences are impressed by the fact the genre they enjoy listening to has their own channel which means they don't have to wait and listen to songs they don't want in order to listen to a few of the ones they do like. However, despite this, the music video channels that branched out form MTV are often main stream genres and don't always appeal to niche audiences. For example MTV doesn't have a channel for Grime music as it has a small target audience and may be classed as offensive or controversial by others and that's a risk a big and successful company such as MTV can not take.
Radio Stations:
Radio Stations:
Popular and big radio stations now also have their own music channels as audiences can access them through different media platforms which helps target audiences as in today's society not everyone listens to the radio and/or is eligible to one, which makes the radio channel easier to access and watch/ listen to than the radio station, unless you are travelling or in the car.
